Virtues of Shabbat The night before the 14th day of the month of Shaban is called 'Lailatun Min Nisfi Shaban'. To the Muslim Ummah this night is known as Shaba Barat or Lailatul Barat. Be it right or not, on this day the Muslim Ummah indulges in various rituals. However, it is proved by the hadith of the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him, that the virtues and dignity of this night are very high. On this blessed night of Lailatum Min Nisfa Sha'ban, Allah Almighty forgives all those who seek forgiveness except those who set up partners with Allah (polytheists) and those who harbor enmity.
